  3. My favorite example of this is a song by TOOL..."Die Eier Von Satan." It has a very Militaristic evil sounding rhythm and tone...but he's speaking the ingredients of a brownie recipe...

  4. The German Bundeswehr actually did armored training and exercises in England in the 60's as to make room for British tanks in West Germany. A lot of British citizens were not too happy seeing German soldiers driving around their countryside with Balkenkreuz on their tanks. Too soon.

  5. I would watch "Downfall." You forget you're even watching a movie and not a documentary, or even in the room yourself. Most WW2 films shy away from portraying Hitler beyond the painting on a wall, or portrait on a desk. But this is stunning. The fact that it is made BY the Germans themselves speaks volumes, almost an admission of guilt. A recognition of the weight they still carry from what was done in their name. On par with Saving Private Ryan in every way.
