  1. Read the founding documents of the Confederacy. There is no academic debate on the subject, they literally TOLD you what caused it. Southern States reinterpreting the Civil War and ignoring slavery is as dangerous as Germany denying their history. If you don't learn it, you're doomed to repeat it.
