@gogakuhei That's nice and all, but often it's a rationalization. The guys I know that are wealthy, universally prefer Tokyo. That's why it's always better to have a lot of money, then you know the decision that you made (whether a big city or rural) is really genuine and not a rationalization for not having a lot of money.

Could you bypass the getting married part, if you already have several properties (that you bought cash)/investments in Japan? I mean for getting a mortgage loan in Japan. Thank you in advance.

@Dogen oh really? Wow, 10 years is surely a long time to wait for that. I can see why a lot of guys get married to a Japanese national in Japan. I just hope when I do, it's for the right reasons ;)
