@christopherjoyce9788 We all did; including access to guidance counselors. The problem is these people were not proactive in their own development.

@johnwight6041 See a guidance counselor and take an aptitude test. It'll will reveal what your interest are and what you're good at doing regarding your skill set.

STOP blaming others; you made BAD choices including DROPPING out. Both high schools and colleges have what they call GUIDANCE counselors; did you take the time to meet with any of them ? It was free; I did. You made your choices including joining the Army ( that was a choice ) leaving the Army to go back into the civilian world ( that was a choice ) and developing a plan ( also a choice ). The QUALITY of our lives is proportional to ALL of the decisions we make; some are not consequential ( like what shirt to wear ) and others are life changing ( like joining the Army ); there were MANY choices when you were in the service from being a tank mechanic to infantry to putting in for the Rangers; it was ALL up to you; I'm sure the recruiter had you take an aptitude test to find out where your interest was highest as well as your skill set.

@themonsterwithin4000 Cry me a river; YOU are responsible for YOUR decisions. YOU made the decision to go to school and YOU made the decision as to what course of study. YOU should have done your research on GOOGLE to see what jobs pay and what jobs DON'T; it's YOUR fault that you're in the situation that you're in; NOT your parents; NOT anybody. I can speak about ANYTHING I want; you graduated in 2020 that means there's no excuse that you're a loser; technology is EVERYWHERE; you have it easier than past generations and all you can do is play the victim so typical of Gen. Z's; no wonder companies don't want to hire anybody from your generation.

@MsPotro51 You had " better guidance growing up " you just didn't listen; because as a typical teenager ) at the time ) you thought you knew it all and now you're paying the price.

College degrees USED to represent discipline and intellect; that's why most people got hired right out of college. Now, because of federalized loans ( thanks Obama ) anyone and their grandmother can get a degree in bullsh!t majors. This is why there's a flood of people with WORTHLESS degrees coupled with Gen.Z's and their entitled attitude are but several reasons why corporations are not hiring them and the millennial generation; their sh!tty work ethic has caught up to them. They think working a 9-5 is unfair and too much WORK and INSIST on work/life balance; well they're getting a LOT of work/life balance now........
