@gregsgrowth530 WRONG! Not everyone gets opportunities to work to get the chance to change their financial situation! There are people who are literally born into and trapped in poverty and won't ever be able to get out. There's people with disabilities that CAN'T work! There are people who get rejected on a CONSTANT BASIS from even the most basic, entry-level jobs and they're NEVER given the chance to start at the bottom and get job-trained/taught how to do the job they applied for. So therefore, they CAN'T work or get work! Its a lot of different factors; being poor and poverty in general ISN'T a choice AT ALL! It NEVER has been and it NEVER WILL BE!!! REGARDLESS of age! And this FALSE belief that has been passed down for generations that if a person "works hard, you can be/do anything", is a full blown LIE!!!! "Hard work" ≠ success!

@OccupiedMuffins "...no one is born poor..." What planet are you from??? LITERALLY 99.9% of people are BORN POOR! Also, do you not get what "self-made" means??? It means they WEREN'T born rich and had to WORK for their millions! Inherited means someone was BORN RICH/WEALTHY and DIDN'T have to lift a finger to ACTUALLY WORK and make their money because they're living off SOMEONE ELSE'S money that they, themselves didn't make nor contribute anything to!

I have PTSD too and can say with FULL CONFIDENCE that therapy DOESN'T WORK AT ALL! 🙅🏽‍♀️ I'd NEVER recommend it! I KNOW! I tried it for 12 YEARS and it did NOTHING but TRAUMATIZED me MORE! I agree that trauma plays a big role in how someone turns out, what they'll do, what they'll be and what may or may not happen to them.

@mkshort1 I feel you. But at least you're getting social security. Most people who get disability are faking it (*NOT saying you are*) and the ones who are REALLY disabled ALWAYS get DENIED! I know someone who has MDD, GAD and PTSD, they were bullied, abused (physically, verbally, mentally, emotionally), they were forcibly hospitalized AGAINST THEIR WILL more than once which traumatized them EVEN MORE and they got a letter denying them of disability. They've been applying for disability for the past 3, almost 4 years, they had a lawyer, applied 2 or 3 times, appealed their case and STILL got denied! Even though they had proof they were disabled! They were told their disability wasn't "severe enough" to be granted social security!
