Comments by "Miguel D Lewis" (@MiguelDLewis) on "Europe's Migration Debate Explained" video.
Most of the population growth is occurring in developing nations of the southern hemisphere. But most of the population decline is happening in overdeveloped nations of the northern hemisphere. Overdeveloped nations, like those in the North Atlantic, extract the wealth from developing nations through unfair trade but are unwilling to take the burden of the economic refugees they create. In order for overdeveloped, underpopulated nations to get the workers they need, they'll have to make a way for people from developing nations to migrate. The shortage of nurses, daycare workers, and construction workers in the EU could easily be filled by workers from fast-growing populations like India, Philippines, Mexico, and Nigeria. The US and Canada often take them in sooner than the EU can since we have more open policies here.

@artsman412 You're very welcome.

@aoeu256 I wouldn't say landlocked countries are screwed. Switzerland is landlocked and it's wealthy. Rwanda is also landlocked and it's fairly wealthy too compared to it's other African neighbours. And despite all the other forms of exploitation you mentioned, nations of the global south are still responsible for protecting themselves and maintaining their sovereignty. Pointing the finger or asking nicely don't work unless you have the upper hand. The global south, especially Africa, cannot have the upper hand because of the continent still has not been Christianized to the same extent that Europe was. That lack of Christianization puts it at a disadvantage. It's the reason why Africa has a huge problem with unwed parents and corrupt politicians, all contributing to it's poverty. Latin America has a similar problem.

That would have to be tightly controlled and only for MARRIED COUPLES. We did something similar to that here in the US. It created a generation of single mothers and disincentivized fathers in the home. That gave rise to crime and poverty.

Those liberal policies are actually the result of the Christianization of Europe. Christianity is the foundation of all liberal democracies. Without Judeochristian ethics, secularism would not exist.

@andybrice2711 As an American, I don't think Britain is a completely good cultural fit for us. The vast majority of people here in the US are devout Christians but Christianity seems to be under attack in Britain. I saw a video of a young lady named Harmonie London get harassed by British police for singing Amazing Grace. I also see videos of people who pray or preach in public get arrested. I don't know how prevalent this stuff is but it doesn't look very good to me. 🤔

@hopeintruth5119 Yes, we're culturally linked but the way I see Christians being treated in London these days seems antithetical to the especially Protestant and Evangelical majority here in the US. And when I say "devout" I mean Christians in the US think that the bible is the literal, inspired word of God and that Jesus literally died and was resurrected for their sins.

@sebastiangruenfeld141 But Japan is trying that already and it's not working out for them. Canada and US will continue to take your potential guest workers and make them citizens. Why would a nurse, an engineer, a doctor, or a construction worker go to the EU as a guest when they could go to the US and become a citizen?

@andybrice2711 As long as the UK maintains its religious liberty, I would love to work there then. I'd even serve in the UK armed forces. I sometimes see British soldiers/marines moving to the US or Canada and serving here.
