@smugfrog1041 "Foriegn industry experts" don't necessarily have to be involved with writing stories. For example, when Americans like Samuel L. Jackson, Kelly Hu, and RZA worked on Afro Samurai, they had no input in the overall story. Takashi Okazaki wrote the story in the manga. Foreign industry experts work in all areas of Japanese anime to some degree. Even back in the days of Osamu Tezuka, you're bound to have at least one Korean or Chinese animator on any team. Global reach most often requires global collaboration. Japan will not be able to compete if it doesn't encourage global collaboration. About 1/3 of the people working on Demon Slayer: Mugen Train were foreigners. Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is the highest grossing anime of all time.

@seiwarriors Yeah Jpop was more Gen Y, and even then we got it from anime and games.

@Yangpeiling-de-zhangfu Mahayana Buddhism comes from India. The Lotus Sutra was originally written in Sanskrit.

Japan isn't capitalist. It's a socialist-leaning mixed market economy. Government subsidizes anime and pensions at the same time.

@Huy-G-Le Marx hated black people. No thank you.

Pride is what's destroying Japan.

We in the US never forgave. That's why we sent Kissinger to normalize trade with China and make it a superpower. Nothing prevents another Pearl Harbor like controlled opposition. It's the best excuse for building more marine bases and making Japan dependent on us. They have no choice but to buy our weapons and pay tribute to us via the UN. The world thinks the US and China are enemies while trade increases and Nippon Kaigi remains contained. It's genius really.

@cvdinjapan7935 Depravity in anime is one reason why Japanese men won't get married. Just stay in their parent's home and fap to fanservice.

Japan is no longer a leader in technology. The US, UK, and China are ahead.

China's Genshin Impact alone is outselling every Japanese anime and game. The googly-eyed anime style that Japan copied from the US is now being used to empower China. Japan can't compete.

@anaskhoiri3653 It's not begging if you have the money. In the past, China worked for Japan. Now, Japan works for China.

Mihoyo has realized it.

Not in sales. The US, specifically Disney/Pixar animation, outperforms the entire Japanese animation industry.

Foreign experts will just go to the US and expand Hollywood. Keanu Reeves, for example, is an Israeli Wasian who worked with John Woo to make The Matrix, and with Donny Yen to make the newest John Wick. Japan's pride will just encourage more brain drain. Asia's most talented actors, choreographers, and animators will get paid more and continue to lead Western productions while Japan will continue to fall.

It's not called "Evangelion" for no reason. 😉

Government Bureaucrats don't know anything about anime. That's why the MEXT's Cool Japan initiative failed, and they lost millions.
