Their writing (Kanji) and architecture is Chinese, their religion is Indian (Buddhism) and Korean (Shinto), and their technology is American (electricity, automobiles, computers). The Japanese imperial family is also of Korean descent while the general population is composed of Yamato, Ryukyuan, and Zainichi ethnic groups. There was even an African samurai named Yasuke who helped unite Japan under the Tokugawa Shogunate.
