You’re thinking too deeply about this movie. It’s just another popcorn action movie meant to flip a profit. All the critical acclaim is just advertising. That’s how America works. Everything is about money. Art and culture are just tools to make money, we Americans (including us Black Americans) just want to make as big a profit as possible. 💵🇺🇸🦅

Japan's reliance on cuteness leads to a loss of originality unfortunately. Motoko Kusanagi is the only female comic hero who has a sense of multi-dimensionality, and even then she partly exists as a hentai character to satisfy her creator's sexual fantasies. Japan's female heroes, as well as their idol groups, encourage Japanese girls to lack a sense of individuality. I dated young Japanese women when I was studying over there earlier this year and most of them were like immature, superficial children. Individuality and honesty took a backseat to deceptive cuteness. But I guess I can't really talk, seeing that brown Americans like myself only have a vampire and an undead hellspawn to look up to...

Yeah same. I judge every comic book action movie based on the standard set by Blade. That film was the zenith of comic book cinema and few can even come close to measuring up to it. Ironman, Constantine, and Dark Knight were ok too but none have outclassed Blade.🔫⚔️🦇🧛🏻‍♂️

@Lionard Kirsch Yes, my friend, there are always exceptions. I wished to acknowledge that by mentioning Motoko Kusanagi of Ghost in the Shell but I know of no others. Cuteness and sexuality is a predominating characteristic of Japanese comic heroines.

@MILDMONSTER1234 Yes, Blade and Spawn are cool and I loved them growing up. They were my only sources of brown American representation besides Warmachine of course. But they're anti-heroes, not ideal heroes. And Black Panther's kind of ok but even he has some anti-hero ways, like killing for example.

@Micheal Jensing This is very true. Japan is much like it's mascot, Hello Kitty. It seems all cute and nice with it's clean streets, cherry blossoms, and seemingly "low crime rate" but in reality, it's the descendent of genocidal, bloodthirsty lions.

The original Mulan cartoon was just as bad as the remake. Mulan lied, stole, and pushed the transgender agenda by dressing like a man. Her father could’ve been a non-combatant commanding officer since he had prior military experience. She did all that lying, stealing, and crossdressing for no reason.

@Rayn Wolfsbane Black Panther is not a celebration of African cultures. Wakanda isn’t based on any of the actual African Kingdoms that exist, whether ancient or modern. And even then, it celebrates the negative aspects of African culture, like animal worship and witchcraft. Black Panther is as evil as the Thor movies. Even as I type, African children and albinos are being hunted down and killed to be used in African witchcraft.

It's kinda not fair to compare Black Panther to Blade now that I think about it. Blade is the best comic hero movie ever and started broke the corny superhero movie curse, inspiring both the Matrix Trilogy and the MCU. Comparing Black Panther to Blade is like comparing Thor to A Fist Full of Dollars.

Actually she didn’t need to do it at all. Her father had armor and swords from his previous service with the army (that she stole). Judging by his age and the wealth of his estate, he could’ve been a high ranking commanding officer, strategizing behind the scenes instead of fighting. And even if he wasn’t a commander, he could’ve filled other minor support roles like making food, making arrows and gunpowder, reloading canons, tending to war horses, repairing equipment, etc. Mulan lied and manipulated people for no good reason. She taught an entire generation that lying is ok if you have “good intentions” and evil means justify the ends. Disney was always evil. Only now, they made Mulan a witch in addition to being a liar and a thief.

Black Panther is a bad movie but not because of Shuri being smart. Ironman is smart too. Her inventions are the last thing wrong with the story.

@Jens Danquah I grew up reading Blade, Spawn, and Black Panther. Even before these movies, I always loved Blade more than Black Panther. Blade is a better role model for little black boys because he sacrifices his own blood-thirsty desires for the greater good. He’s flawed but he overcomes his flaws for the sake of others. He only kills to save others, not out of self-defense. On the other hand, Black Panther is invulnerable, malignantly ethnocentric, and he worships a stupid cat. He even tries to imitate Jesus and resurrects with his magic fruit. He’s too powerful, and not relatable at all. He’s as empty and meaningless as Superman and he sucks compared to Blade. Black Panther is also full of demon worship and witchcraft, the very things that are destroying Africa.

@hoping67 I know that she's an ex stripper with a criminal record. But she's also a sports car collector, which means its fitting for her to be in FF9. Her past profession and criminality is irrelevant to her inclusion in a film about cars, considering her car collection. Bow Wow has a record too but he was in Tokyo Drift.
