The galaxy is so immense and the distances so vast that we may as well be alone, and considering how we've interacted with other creatures on this planet it may be just as well.

War between two alien species is a ridiculous concept, it's impossible that they'd be exactly on the same technological level, think of a conflict between a modern army and one of just 100 (0r even 50) years ago.

@blurglide I can't even understand other humans much of the time.

@arianr-grf Stay off YouTube my friend. 😂

@warren52nz And obviously their military technology would be as advanced too so there would be no "Star Wars" it would be more akin to disinfecting bacteria, so the question of communication is a moot one because what have humans got to say to bacteria?
1
@warren52nz Yep, better to be treated as a pet than as livestock, or worse still as an inconvenience or threat like wildlife.

@stewg4661 I can't imagine a scenario where it could be positive experience having an alien bust out of your stomach or into your ass.

@thecomfortinthesound And yet there was a time not so long ago when it was "logical" that the earth was the center of the universe that god created and it was dangerous to deny it, indeed even now there are places where it is safer to agree that A is B. What is "logical" changes from place to place time to time.
1
@thecomfortinthesound Well yes, as I understand it logic from the Greek logos meant reason or plan, an invention just like truth, justice and beauty, uniquely human and in the eye of the beholder.
1
@thecomfortinthesound I just mentioned Greece as it is the earliest this concept is mentioned ("invented" as it were), and that's why I linked it with other concepts which are also uniquely human constructs, I never said that the Greeks held a subjective view on aesthetics they had very definite opinions which were different to other human societies which is my point, beauty is in the eye of the beholder there is no universal view on anything including logic or even physics, there are places in the universe like inside black holes that we cannot be sure what conditions apply.
