  8. The other thing about the British monarchy that no one seems to have mentioned is that it is sectarian, you must be a member of the C of E (sorry Moggy). It is also becoming a military threat to neighbouring countries, it's high time democratic countries banded together to contain it.

  33. Okay I understand the reason to give the UK a deal on goods, the EU cannot afford to have a humanitarian disaster and failed state at its heart, but there is no reason to give them anything on services except what is profitable and plenty of rules to obey.

  34.  @davidty2006  Scotland's path to independence doesn't have to be the same as Ireland's, the international situation was very different 100 years ago (although you'd hardly know from some of the pictures of trenches in Ukraine), the UK was exhausted and financially on its knees (okay that's the same too lol) but the international community will not tolerate violence and terrorism and Scotland will have to have an eye to that if they aspire to rejoin the EU, also 100 years ago there were plenty of men with military experience and excess weapons about from the Great War. I'm not even Scottish but I too grow frustrated at the glacial like pace of Scottish independence which I see as desirable but not as inevitable as Irish reunification, I think a window of opportunity has been missed with the impending fall of the Tory regime which has treated Scotland so contemptuously but things will slightly improve under Labour and impetus will be lost and will have to await the inevitable return of the Tories to be reignited.
