I've heard there's people who recognize it early and beat it by adapting their logic to assume more by assuming much less about what they can't prove, meaning welcome to the world of never believing what you hear and maybe only believing half of what you see; for instance when you think someone is talking about you, just assume you couldn't actually hear it clearly or correctly and that you're brain was trying to fill in the blanks...
