Even 1350 years later here in the US age consent was 7-11 respective to individual state in 1890s. Even today child bribes exist in the US with exemptions for Christian marriage

Also consider Christian slaves actually preferred to be under Muslim rule and sharia during Byzantine empire because Muslims treated them better. Manumitting slaves is an encouraged and virtuous deed in Islam.
