Kabuki Jo : Fetish and kinks are okay in their own private context, which even heterosexuals have too, but there is no need for these things to be on show in the public as of to advertise and promote them, and more especially for the sake of children that can be in the family crowds.

@Gumbatron01 I do not remember fetishes and kinks being promoted where I live and grew up in the 1970's and 80's. But as a teenager maybe I was more innocent and not cognisant of the fact, and the young mind processes things differently than older more observant people. Many heterosexuals will view just bring gay as a taboo, so that's what we dealt with back then along with super strength bigotry and narrowmindedness which hasn't gone away you know. I have seen some very outlandish heterosexual kinks and fetishes that would make a bishop blush, and their behaviour can be pretty extreme in moving to gratify themselves more & more. I don't think kids should be exposed to any of this, but heterosexual exposure, nudity and kinks is more prevalent in the widespread media of television and films just because it is more "acceptable" (to those watching it, not to the kids), so no one opposes heterosexual flith on TV. It has always been about pushing the boundaries of respectability too in the heterosexual world and media since the 1950's onwards, so the moral decline is all over society, not just with gays.

@albundy5492 Was it? What proof do you have of that? It was about identification and mutual respect, but that has morphed. People who never accept gays will always mar the brand.

@HelloKittykat21 She opposed a lot, but society still overtook. Do you want to return to attitudes against race, sexuality, gender (women's rights), and repressive laws we had back then? My memory of growing up that era was one of fear, hiding and closetted lifestyle. While every heterosexual in the land flaunted their bawdy sexual desire on seedy comedies, women were cowed over a kitchen sink expected to obey her husband's every whim, and child abuse, incest and pornography thrived in secret with no decent laws in the land to help them. It may seem a rosy memory for some (straights), but for others it was horrifically repressive.

@shay5839 I think society in general is changing big time, but we gotta keep a level head and value all the positives that are still there, such a good friendship, laughter, the beauty of nature etc. Those things help us all from being too much in despair about developments around us. 💕

Don Lee : That's because the former represents freedom (which you have), while the latter represents persecition and discrimination (which still exists). However, many gay people are horrified by what their flag and Pride have become to mean. Twisted agendas can weaken the symbolism of both flags, so vigilence is needed.

@anonym4us13 I think that's a very devisive outlook. Flags represent a good face of the country or people they represent, they should not be viewed as something hostile, unless people are afraid of difference and open representation. You insinuate that gay people are not part of society, but that is what the spectrum of colours represent, that gay people can be found in any strata of society, in any country, nation, people, race or religion, and so it should be a unifying symbol and one of integration, not one of separation or discrimination. Surely that is an aspiration. I live in a divided society where both British and Irish flags vie for predominance, but while one side refuses to accept the legitimacy of the other the flags only add to the tension & mistrust. I don't think countries should necessarily not accept another nation's flag favourably, unless, as you suggest, they pose a serious threat. Rainbow flags aren't there to stamp out all others, but to form a bridge between many. Most that are offended take umbrage out of deep personal dislike. That is prejudice, and you cannot blame the rainbow flag for that. If you want a totally white heterosexual community to identify with as your country you're gonna have to follow Hitler. That kind of thinking only leads to alienation and hatred, and we should be beyond that.

@ColonelStraker Well, from what I understand the Bible says that "SIN is trangression of the Law" (of God), which I am guessing you are using for your measuring stick to size other people up and what you must be referring to in not compromising against it. So not to accept sin. However, I see Christians breaking God's Law all the time, so how are they so different in their behaviour than the people you seem to be denouncing as sinners? Most of them refuse to obey God in remembering the Sabbath Day to keep it holy on the seventh day of the week, now called "Saturday" by most Christians in honour of the god Saturn, and a great many seem to ignore the warning by God in Leviticus 11: 7, 10-12 about the ABOMINATION (emphasized by God FOUR TIMES) of eating sewage-imbibing shellfish and scavenger animals, which even as a Hilton chef I was taught by my secular tutors that these were "HIGH RISK" foods to be cooked, prepared and stored with great care in order not to poison anyone, which differentiation even the Gentile Noah knew about when he obeyed God in boarding the unclean animals in TWOS upon the Ark, whilst boarding the clean animals in SEVEN PAIRS, or 14 animals, as they were needed for food. 🐷 You mention the lake of fire, which the book of revelation informs us is where ALL LIARS will end up, which must include all Christian parents, teachers and even church ministers who LIE to innocent children year in, year out, wilfully and unrepentedly about Santa Claus and his flying reindeer. 🎅 🦌🦌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 You are certainly right about confusing love vs tolerance, so how long should we tolerate the sinful behaviour of these law-breaking Christian liars posing as representatives of the Messiah in the churches?
