@Madmen604Yes, that is the hypocrisy, the fact that both groups are Arab proves that their Palestinianism was not so important to them back then as they all blended into one Arab group.
The stronger point is that they were all Muslim, who keep Jews & Christians in subjugation under them, which is why they did not object to the rule of the Ottoman Turks, who though not Arab, were still Muslim, which was a rallying point, but they opposed more the British rule as it was technically Christian, although they tried to cater for both Jews & Arabs, without success.
It is only when Jews come into power does Palestinian nationalism emerge, even though all Jews living there pre-1948 were equally Palestinian by nationality, as were the minority Druze.
If you want to clump it together as "Levantine ancestry", as you suggest, then if you are including the area called by non-Jews "Palestine", that history must include Jews, Arabs, Druze & others.
There were Armenians and Greeks living in the land too plus Egyptian Copts etc as minorities.
And many of those still do under Israeli governance that allows freedom for all religions there.
So are you making points only in support of the Arabs whilst ignoring other people groups in the region implying that the Arabs must be "rulers" and as Muslims clearly over all other religions?
