Herbert Hoover tried this exact same thing to prevent the recession of Calvin Coolidge from getting worse. He thought that he would be promoting American products and therefore raising the economy. But the reason that the great depression is attributed to Hoover and not Coolidge is that, though it was Coolidge economy that created the recession , it was Hoovers tariffs that created the Great Depression. The cost-of-living went up dramatically, people could buy less and more jobs were lost because businesses went out of business they couldn’t sell. Making more people poor without jobs. If you’re gonna come up with an idea from the past, at least use one that was successful. There are many. High taxes on the Rich was very successful. Strong country wide unions was successful. Corporate regulations to prevent monopolies and bad ethics involving public money was very very successful. Together they created the American Dream. Let’s make America actually great again by bringing back those things. We have done everything we’re talking about, but we can see what worked, and is working around the world, just not doing any of it because the rich have taken control and are greedy to the point of a mental illness among the class.

I completely agree. I’m from poor black neighborhood in south of Chicago and the perspective that is being promoted of black America in general is usually the poorest most violent ghetto version. Like all you see is news reports of violence, but you don’t see regular decent folk in poor black neighborhoods being promoted and they are most of them.

There’s an overwhelming question. That surpasses whether or not a fetus is a baby. No I do not think a fetus is a person till later on in the gestation developmental stage. However, even considering from day one that it is a living human being from day one. Do you believe the federal government should have the right to force you to medically use your body to save the life of another human being Against your will , without your consent? Not even taking inconsideration the ramifications involving your health, your financial stability, your mental health and the affect it has on your already existing life? Should Congress enact this law for men as well? Why should this only be for women to lose their body autonomy and right to decide whether or not the federal government can medically use their body against their will to save the life of another human being?

Since 1953, the United States has had 13 economic collapses. 12 of those 13 economic collapses were under Republican run and lead government. We have not recovered from any economic collapse. The middle-class has done worse after every single one of them. And 12 out of 13 were under Republican run government. I am 45 years old in my entire lifetime every single Republican president that has come into power has come into power during a boom in our economy and crashed it by the time they have left office. This includes Donald Trump. The last two did it within just four years. One of them being one of the worst economic collapses we’ve had in our history. I can’t stand Joe Biden. Can’t stand Democrats at all. But what I can’t stand more is another economic collapse and it appears that the scoreboard is 100% that if you elect a Republican he will collapse our economy by the time he leaves office because so far it is 100% true in my lifetime.

I don’t like Republicans. Honestly I’ve only liked about four presidents throughout our whole history. And it’s completely split 50-50 Democrat Republican. It doesn’t matter what you believe in or what your political party is. It’s not like voting for a Democrat or Republican has ever gotten you special treatment. After every economic collapse we’re all equally poor. I don’t care about the culture wars we’re having today. I think it’s wasting everyone’s time and separating us unnecessarily. It’s never been about liking each other. It’s just been about getting along. These culture wars are just there to distract us while our government is robbing us. I don’t care if some liberal wants me to call them, they them, or if some Republican doesn’t want a book in the library of their school. Because none of it’s gonna matter if our children have no future. Nobody cares about the guy wearing a dress when they’re starving. I can’t afford another economic collapse. I can’t afford to let my children’s future dwindle to nothing, and we’ve been watching it, we all see it. The last immigration laws were 70 years ago. Immigration is a major talking point in the Republican Party. It is their second most dominant argument. In that 70 years Republicans have held house, Senate presidency and the Supreme Court on numerous occasions and have done zero to change the immigration laws. Donald Trump only use an existing law called title 42 of which was only usable during Covid therefore being completely temporary. Even though they’ve helped total control and could’ve changed the immigration laws to be anything they wanted to be a no Democrat could’ve done anything to stop them they haven’t. Right now we have a president willing to make immigration law form. He is offering Republicans everything they’ve ever said they wanted. They are the only ones Republicans are the only ones holding it up. Appears as the Republicans really don’t want to do anything about immigration. They just want to use it as a talking point to upset their base and the general population. At that point since they are the only ones preventing any immigration reform any immigration issues we have are their fault. I didn’t say that means vote for a democrat either. I just said vote for anyone but a republican, as they have 71 years of crashing our economy.

I’m a historian and I’ve seen a lot of speeches by fascists. Hitler being one of them. when people are comparing them to Hitler’s it’s because Trump has actually given a couple speeches, especially recently that really are bordering some of the speeches that Hitler actually gave. He calls, his opponents enemies. He says that they’re coming to our country and they’re poisoning our blood. When he seeks vengeance against them and blames them Democrats for all of the problems and then talk about fighting and physical violence and joining the militia in an army ready to fight all these things are classic 1 oh1 dictator take over / potential murders kind of stuff. We’ve done this before. This is not the first rodeo of what he’s doing. It is really scary to see in action. I absolutely see the playbook happening. I’m just shocked that is happening here. I’m shocked by all the decent folk that I know who skirt his language And act like it’s just talk, but then don’t acknowledge the growing number of people who are using the rhetoric and the violence that it has initiated and the growing anger and violence that is being promoted. We should be freaked out right now. Partly because we know who the Jews are in this story, but also partly because it affects the entire world. Imagine Hitler with the American army. Our allies are planning a possible Trump presidency and they are in fear and trying to find ways to subvert his power. Meanwhile, he is giving speeches that be friend Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, etc., etc. that alone is terrifying. People think that they’re winning because they follow him and they are not winning. They are also losing. They’re just not smart enough to realize the threat that they’re creating, and how great America really is that they’re ruining it. I find it the most fascinating that the people who scream how they are the patriots while wrapping themselves in American flags are the ones who were actually trying to end the active abilities of the constitution and America, as we have always known it.

Yeah, I’m pretty sick of how inflation is insane and a can of soup cost five bucks but somehow they think that the poverty guidelines should still remain somewhere around $12,000 a year. I know somebody who lost their health insurance because of that extra $2000 now they’re just poor and unhealthy. How are they supposed to afford anything? You can’t even afford a place to live at all you can’t even afford a room in lots of places.
