@BestRags1824 Energy independence is misleading IMHO - The US has lots of coal. My question is what happens in 10 years - when US oil runs out, which I suggest is possible, to your military? No oil - no military? Without military dominance the US is a lame duck!

@jakeross5737 Please give it some thought? Have you ever wondered why the mad California Dems are planning on having no ICE vehicles in 2035? EV's are expensive, have issues and still require energy but if the oil runs out who will have all the EV's and charging infrastructure in place?

@BestRags1824 The US tends towards exporting Petroleum. More profit as US crude is a high quality. The US uses 20 million barrels a day - currently produces 11 million barrels a day (approx) Therefore the US is a net importer of crude oil - 9 million barrels a day + the petroleum equivalent You import 50% of your oil
