I have a DC welder so may just try it out on some deep cycle batteries I have In Florida, (and probably several other states) heat is the biggest 'killer' of batteries so battery life is shorter than cooler places. I have rarely got more than 4 years even on '72 month' batteries (no one sells these in Florida nowadays) Usual life is 2 to 3 years, way less on motorcycle batteries. When I lived in Britain, 6 or 7 years was normal lifespan of motorcycle batteries, I never kept a car that long so never changed a car battery
