  1.  @bmxscape  No, two strokes are simple. You can see the slots where fuel oil mix gets in. Some of the Suzuki and Kawasaki are a little bit more difficult to explain when they use centrifugal force to supply oil to big end bearings from a main bearing (Honda used same system for a long time on various motors and they are four stroke!)

  2. I guess Hollywood will like it if they can get suits of armour made for less than $10,000 (pressing one side would be repousse or repoussage) Could also be very useful for restorations when the cost comes down as many forms of embossing are something of a 'lost' art

  3. In Britain they have always been called string trimmers or 'Strimmers' and everyone knows exactly what your talking about. When I moved to Florida, I had never heard of a weed whacker but it was soon explained to me (~1999) so I guess Google isn't accurate (three years ago)

  4. I've tested diesel injectors many times but to see the flame front propagation was fun. Often a diesel injector can be dismantled and cleaned. Diesels operate differently to gasoline/petrol engines and use the heat from compressing air to start combustion plus diesels have a steady burn as fuel is added during combustion
