As a motorcycle tech, I'm amazed at how little oil is in top end of that engine and how dry inside of cam cover was. On bikes, remove bolts on cam cover ends first then diagonals or they can distort. Throwing and cussing, just makes everything take a lot longer, plus, it still has to be done after you find everything. I do think the engineers who design some of this stuff are just evil though and do it to torture techs. (and sometimes should be nailed to a wall for the S** they do) It was a bit weird how oil was spraying from front journal cap and not traversing through cam or into other journals? Initially I thought it was just being carried by cam chain. Were the driver side lash adjusters spraying oil like the passenger side when you looked through wheel well?
