Compression didn't change as combustion chamber is in the piston. Do you know anything about diesel engines?

@HueToobBlows It doesn't matter how much the head is decked as combustion chamber is in piston crown which is probably close to 1.5" thick around edge. Head is 'flat' so compression doesn't increase. (it's actually called a 'Heron head' from the original design) The compression ratio is probably 'only' 16~18 to one or so and piston could be machined for bump clearance which could increase compression as then the combustion chamber gets smaller. With your 'experience' you should already know this

@billyarsenault1970 Try reading that again.

'underground over ground Wombling free' My little brother used to watch it

@disgruntled6669 Tell that to Harley Davidson

@Yodie208 ....plus, right hand drive ones had a rather nasty habit of dumping the battery into passengers lap

@HueToobBlows I very much doubt that as I've been playing with all types of engines for over 50 years, including a 12 year stint teaching people about them. Being British I didn't specialise in just one type or manufacturer like American's seem to do.

Yep, probably he's wondering how he can get paid if 'everyone' starts repairing things

I would say 99.9%

Interesting to know although I doubt I'll be doing anything like it anytime (but, never say never)

They did normalise the steel parts by heating to red and slow cooling though

@genghischuan4886 Sorry, I don't know what I said and may possibly have replied to wrong comment?

@richardmaurer9002 Yep, the head is flat and combustion chamber in piston. He has no idea at all about diesels
