The problem from my perspective, by 2014, Go-Pro treated customers badly if they were not buying a new one every few months. I was at an expo in Orlando (Fl.) where Go-Pro had a stand. I had two older Hero's one of the original plus another 3~4 years newer and was thinking about an upgrade. I asked if there was a possibility of software updates as a conversation starter, rep looked bored with no-one to demonstrate new models for. Instead of just saying they were not supported, the representative was incredibly dismissive calling older models crap then telling me to update to newest model (at the time it was Hero 4 Black) Not the way to keep customers happy or promote sales (even if it works for Apple). From that point on, I stopped using mine and will not even entertain the idea of buying a replacement from such a company, and that was before I even knew about technical problems.

@jac1207 Ah, but Hasselblad offered support and parts for the older large format film camera's for a very long time and I'm sure that if you pay enough you can still get new parts for them?
