  1. Even almost 70 years after launch it's still a great looking futuristic car. Citroen were always innovators, in the 80's they had the closest thing you could get to active suspension without actually being computer controlled I never found engines/transmission unreliable but the gas bags on suspension always ended up leaking (I only had old cars back then, oh, I still do) Really was just as simple to swap out as in video, problem was, I only ever fitted (well ) used ones. Castrol used to make LHM (at least in Europe) Citroen used the weight of car to keep brake circuit pressurised if there was a leak (personally I never had a problem although getting used to brakes that work takes a little practice) The nlater air cooled 1300 OHC GS flat four was a great car, 110mph, 25 ¬ 30mpg, go off road places a front wheel drive car shouldn't. The most 'fun' thing, when someone is waving at you to 'back up' so they could get past, you pull the lever and car just rises up, exactly what they were indicating 😁

  2. @pedrodaniellopesferreira2916 If he was constantly replacing the suspension spheres, he was probably doing the same as me and getting used ones that had been removed and not stored properly. When I got them direct, stopped having any problems. The fact he had it 16¬17 years means it probably wasn't as bad as you remember

  3.  @oojimmyflip  Friend of my sister was a mechanic at Citroen garage. 2CV, super simple to work on but still had points ignition which virtually no one understood by the 1980's. Watching 2CV go into a roundabout at 40+ mph was an experience, looked like it was going to roll over but all the wheels stayed on the ground

  6. I had several GS, was into flat fours at one time (multiple VW Beetles, Citroen's and ended with Alfa Sud's.) All were fun with the Alfa 'Rally Special' (from South Africa?) being the most 'interesting' and rusty

  10. @pedrodaniellopesferreira2916 Got to admit Japanese engineering back then was awesome. I still 'play' with 1970's Japanese motorcycles (not the well known, expensive ones though) With very few relatively cheap modifications to charging system they can be made much 'better than Mr Honda or Suzuki intended (selenium rectifiers were not too great even when new and regulators with points not a lot better)

  11.  @cantbearsedmechanics  I can believe it, particularly after seeing one leaning out at about 40 degrees on a right hand roundabout. I was doing about 55mph in my lowered and widened Beetle and the 2CV was right in front of me (on of the last, purple and cream one) It was probably 35 or 40 years ago but has stuck with me in a kind of 'that's impossible' way
