@dimplesd8931 Yep, I worked as a 'Site Service Engineer' which was a great title but terrible job. During summertime, I could easily be doing 18 hr days 7 days a week but 12 hr was more common. (contractors would work on site as long as thye had light) The exception was a 23 hr day followed by a 14 hr day, I had to fix broken stuff before next shift started. US Military has done many research studies over decades on how long a front line soldier can actually stay awake and function at 80% level, even with 'enhancements' (various drugs)

@anchovy2764 I had forgotten about that part of being 'self employed'. 3 years of weird hours (maybe nothing one day and 20 hrs the next in the first year) was enough for me to back to a 'normal' job

The best line in believable BS will go a long way if your main aim is making money

@KWW0321 Actually NO, people say an awful lot of stuff to make conversation if you actually care to listen instead of being full of your own importance. I have heard all sorts of things as a mechanic and more as instructor at a trade school, some obviously BS but some, I really didn't want to hear. You built a motor for your Mustang or did you supply money for someone else to build it? Apart from being a heavy lump, it's simple enough to put together in a few hours, maybe a day if your test fitting parts and degreeing cams

@TheZodiacRipper Not just young people, my wife almost became addicted to it and she's 'over 29' (I still have to live with her so won't say real age)

@asmodiusjones9563 There have been independent tests on older Tesla's, after 7 years still had up to 80% battery capacity which is actually pretty good. I forget the mileages though

@KWW0321 Cool stuff. I just know a LOT of people who say 'I did this' or 'I did that' when all they actually did was give money to someone who could do it for them. Putting engines together is actually very simple and there are not really that many pieces inside a push-rod V-8. Test fitting and measuring takes way more time to do properly, even when you trained as a precision machinist (around 3 micron tolerances) Kudos to you for DIY, sounds like you did a lot more than just 'put it together'

@KWW0321 One major advantage with a bare block, you can pick exactly what you want inside it. I like 'playing' with engines, anything with pistons inside (not really a fan of Wankel motors even if they can make really good compressors) Not a fan of electric cars as I just don't know enough about programming plus you can't really do much anyway as majority of parameters are set. Depending on cam selection, 25psi boost with E85 shouldn't be a problem, you can also add water/methanol injection if you need to prevent detonation (a good byproduct as water expands around 1600 times more than air so you get extra torque at all rpm)

@Dino Sauro Good comment, I wish I had made it
