@brynfisher8019 I was hoping someone would bring that up so I didn't have to. Does it still have the highest (extrapolated) hp/litre for NA engine? Also, in the 60's, Honda did it with points ignition!

Connecting rod length is a ratio of crank throw, not an indication of over or under-square motor? Shape up, it's kinda complicated and has many valid reasons for changing. As always, bad advice is worse than no advice

You really really need to have someone check your commentary, there is wrong, damn wrong then what you said, totally laughable mistakes.. Two strokes do DOUBLE the work in a given time, not half. (although generally producing less than double the power compared to a four stroke) Two strokes actually last a LOT longer than a four stroke making same hp but at much higher rpm. ( 250cc road two-strokes were around in early 90's making over 90bhp) Two stroke always has fresh oil because it isn't recirculated, crank has a much easier life as combustion prevents rod stretching excessively. Over revving will destroy parts pretty quick though. When Kawasaki/Suzuki first made four-stroke MX bikes to replace the two-stroke motors, ( in mid 2000's> ), the four- stroke 250 couldn't get close to 45bhp plus the TBO for crankshaft was 30 hrs (although many people extended the time as they didn't race) Due to Harley Davidson getting AMA to change the rules in 1950's (so they could run 750 side valve against 500cc motors from Britain) 400cc four strokes were allowed to compete with 250 two strokes. (even though 50% would have been a 375cc)
