No it's a totally different situation. Why didn't the Syrian refugees stay in Turkey or go to the Gulf countries and seek refuge there? They share the same Islamic ideology and have the same values about women.

Different religion and different values. Plus they are neighbours. It's got nothing to do with skin colour.

Do you not understand that the Ukrainians share European values and philosophies? It's got little to do with being "refined and gracious".

@samid.a5329 Yes, I did remember later all of the refugees that I have seen in Jordan who are from Palestine, Iraq and Syria. And the thousands of Afghani refugees in Pakistan, plus hundreds of Sudanese refugees in Egypt. I think there is some discrimination, but they do share the same values and religion so it works quite well. It seems to me that Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Palestine are being destroyed by fighting between different sects of Islam, by jihadists groups, and by civil wars, but that's a different topic altogether.

@zebimicio5204 : It seems like you would have preferred the Ottoman Caliphate to continue its rule? Sorry, but the Ottoman Turks lost their offensive war. The Jewish State of Israel is legitimate and it's not going anywhere. The 'displaced' Palestinians should by now have been resettled in the neighbouring Arab countries. Arab Muslims have self-determination today over 99% of the collapsed Ottoman Caliphate ME land, a freedom which many Arabs fought for alongside the British & Allies. Nothing in the Middle East is comparable with Russia invading Ukraine.
