First of all, the Allied Powers liberated the Middle East from the Ottoman Turks in 1918. The British Mandate for Palestine provided for the #indigenous Jews to reconstitute their ancestral homeland. The Jews supported the British in WWI, and wars come at great cost. The Hejazi Arabs also supported the British, and Arabs got 99% of the carved-up Ottoman land!!! Two million Arabs have accepted life in a Jewish state, where they have equality under the law and freedom of religion. I think their families were the sensible ones in 1948 because they didn't align themselves with the attacking Arab armies. Those armies promised the fleeing Arabs that they could return in a few days once the Jews had been *obliterated*, which of course did not happen. Israel is not going anywhere. These people in Gaza should be resettled in one of those surrounding Arab countries, and then Israel might give them 'residence visas' if they are determined to stay in the land. That way they can have all the benefits of living in a developed economy, but NO national voting rights and they could also be deported if they continue to be hostile to Israel.
