Comments by "Sandy Tatham" (@sandytatham3592) on "Palestinian suffers fractures at hands of Israeli forces during journalist’s funeral" video.
Apparently the family's agreement with Israeli security and police was for the coffin to be taken by hearse to the church and burial ground. It was then hijacked by Palestinian jihadis for their own political agenda. When thousands of uncontrolled and emotional people are in one place, there can be deaths if some measures are not taken. I'm trying to see both sides of the story...🙏

@esratasneem1113 : Being beaten on the legs or back is not going to kill anyone. I used to work in the events industry and I know from experience that people can DIE when crowds get out of control. Security officers can also look brutal when they are doing their job of controlling miscreants. This is not to say that the Israeli police didn't overdo it, but remember that their lives are also at stake. They are working in an environment where 19 people, mostly civilians but also security workers, have been KILLED in Israel in recent weeks. And what about the family of the journalist? Did they really want this circus to happen? Or did they have no choice when those men took over the proceedings in what looked like an act of political propaganda?

@esratasneem1113 : Thank you. I will look at your recommended sources. I guess it was inevitable that some Palestinians would try to use Abu Akleh's funeral for publicity purposes, and also inevitable that the Israeli security forces would try to prevent such propaganda.

@esratasneem1113 : Propaganda: "an attempt to push a political narrative or agenda, or even to incite action for a cause". Attempting to hijack a solemn and sad occasion for one's own political agenda is condemnable. Though I understand that the deceased also worked for what many people call a 'propaganda media organisation' so maybe the Palestinians believed they were justified in using her dead body to further their cause?

@esratasneem1113 : I think the death of Shireen Abu Akleh was *tragic*, and it was probably a *horrible accident*. She was a journalist for Al Jazeera which is blocked where I am in Egypt. Can you guess why? I do support certain measures being taken by security officers in order to quell incitement to mass rioting. Over ten thousand Palestinians were attending the funeral, and there is currently a terror wave in Israel. #Perspective

@esratasneem1113 : I appreciate what you say but I'll wait for an independent investigation to be carried out, which seems inevitable. Thank you for the discussion...🙏
