Islam is an ideology which include politics and law as well as religion, so it should be treated differently to personal religions such as Christianity or Sikhism. Islam consists of one set of scriptures (Qur'an, Hadiths, Sira and Tafsirs) which Muslims interpret differently. Islam is radical and difficulties arise for others when the fundamentals of the 'deen' are followed closely. But thankfully not all Muslims do what Muhammed did, or what they are obligated to do by Allah. Good luck, France!

Awwabien : You don't have to look at things that you find offensive or 'damaging' to your emotions. The teacher gave his Muslim students the chance to leave the classroom before he gave his lesson on the cartoons of Muhammed. If you want to live in a country which practices free speech, then you need to find ways to adapt.

@awwabientg4845 : You might consider yourself lucky to be living in a country which gives you choices. You can join in and take advantage of the positive aspects, or separate yourself. It's a choice. Looking at pictures of men (or women) as objects and tools for women's (or man's) pleasure is simply a topic for debate and learning. It's how a society advances in thinking. If you label yourself as a Muslim living with non-Muslims, then that label itself is the root of the problem. Maybe the students who are 'hurt' by drawings of their religious leader could ask for an audio discussion from a separate room. Would that satisfy you?

@awwabientg4845 : I'd like to add that it's not a surprise that many French people have turned against Muslims. The new rule that homeschooling has to stop will penalise other families simply because of the actions of those relatively few Muslim families who refuse to integrate. I hope you understand. Are the fundamentals of Islam compatible with a free society? Who is also being discriminated against in the case of shutdown of all home schooling because of Muslim families failing to integrate?

@awwabientg4845 : If the fundamentals of islam are compatible with the human rights practised in the modern world, why don't Islamic countries also sign the same Universal Declaration of Human Rights? Why do Islamic countries need their own Cairo Declaration? These two documents are not compatible. The 'Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam' follows Shari'ah, and the 'Universal Declaration of Human Rights' is man-made. Once Muslims gain enough power in a new country, they are obligated by Allah to struggle (practice jihad) until they get those same Islamic rights in their new country. That's the problem. For example, Islam does not separate religion and state. For Muslims, the Islamic god is the absolute ruler and his word must be obeyed and accepted unconditionally. For non-Muslims, that would never be OK. Wouldn't it be better to return to a country which is governed by Islamic principles rather than remain as a Muslim in one which follows man-made laws?
