Finkelstein says so much nonsense. I've met people from Gaza in my hotel in Downtown Cairo, and I've seen their Tiktok videos boasting of shopping trips to Cairo and Alexandria, and Gazan students flying to Turkiye for study. Yes there is poverty in Gaza (though probably less poverty than in Cairo) but there were also beach resorts, gold and jewellery markets, eleven universities, luxury car dealerships, etc. In 2019 around 35% of Gazans had an obesity problem, so I guess all those "counted calories" coming in from Israel were only being eaten by the rich Hamas families? When does Finkelstein ever talk about Egypt also controlling the border from Gaza into Sinai? It's not only Israel that doesn't want anything to do with the Islamic #jihadist terrorist groups.

@MrBrukmann He’s an academic that no institution will employ. He tells a very distorted view of things. He also lies, but maybe he’s so traumatised by his own life that he doesn’t realise he’s doing it. I know from my experience of living in the Middle East that he’s incorrect on many things. He seems to have a personality disorder as well, so it’s a bit sad.
