  2.  @snizami : A better word is to *deradicalise*, ie. "to cause a person with extreme views to adopt more moderate positions on political or social issues." But I'm guessing you would complain about that too...🙄

  3.  @ItsukaShimotsuki : My point is that people do get permission to leave Gaza. Some of them return, and some don't return. Gaza is a hellhole for a lot of Gazan people, but it's NOT a prison. When I'm in Cairo I can see that the standard of living for the poorer people is vastly lower than that which the poorer people of Gaza experience. Before the war, Gaza had far more hospitals and medical facilities available to them than the Egyptians in Cairo. The Palestinians get multiple times the funding that other refugees in UNHCR get. Why does the world accept such special treatment for the Palestinians whilst genuine refugees and people in poverty suffer?

  5. We must all react when laws are being used as "lawfare". Reputations can be destroyed when a biased court makes a ruling that turns out later to be based on an illegitimate investigation. People only remember the initial publicity created by the issue of the ruling. There's a lot that stinks about Karim Khan's ruling. Who is he accountable to? Who appointed him? And what nonsense that James O'Brien says about Gazan people "dying of starvation" and that "this has been talked about for years". Many people in Gaza had dangerously high obesity conditions only a year or two before the October 7 massacre!!! Before October 7, Gaza regions had a 0.716 Human Development Index rating, considerably higher than countries like Pakistan and Sudan, and very close to Egypt's rating at 0.728. Most of the Gazan people still look quite well-fed now, unless you believe some propaganda video of a poor child with a pre-existing illness.

  6. The Palestinians have the right to CHOOSE to end the "perpetual refugee" status that UNRWA has given them. They should have the CHOICE to apply for asylum in another country, or to leave and do it illegally if that's their only path to citizenship of another country.
