@TheIsraelGuys : Exactly. I was close by in Dahab, Sinai, on October 7 and felt sick to my stomach when I heard what my Egyptian friends and acquaintances had to say. They all told me “the attack was great, Hamas are our Muslim brothers, we hate Israel”. That evening a man handed around sweet pastries in my guesthouse communal kitchen. I was in a state of shock. These Egyptian business workers are the same people who smile at Israeli tourists, hoping they will spend money with them. I’m much more careful with what I say here in Dahab these days. Israel absolutely must extend sovereignty over Judea and Samaria and offer ‘residence status’ to those Arabs who are not hostile. That’s the only chance their children will have for a life of peace, security and opportunities…🙏💙🇮🇱

⁠ @vincentlussier8264 : In WWI the Arabs of Palestine fought with the Ottoman Turks against the Allied Powers. The Allies DEFEATED the German-Ottoman alliance in 1918 and the Ottoman Middle East land was ceded to the British, French, etc. Losers of a war that they started do NOT get to choose who ends up with what land. The #indigenous Jews fought with the British in the Palestine Campaign and in return were granted the right to reconstitute their ancestral home, so long as they gave equal rights and freedom of worship to the land’s current occupants. Today two million Arabs are equal citizens with Jews and other minorities such as the Druze, Circassians, and Arab Christians in Israel. Their families accepted life in the Jewish state in 1948. They made a good choice…🙏🇮🇱💙

@ChannelMath : I'm absolutely not in favour of the Arabs having a state next to Israel. The Arabs already have Jordan, and 22 other Arab countries, most of which are failing if they are not rich in natural resources. I support #OneJewishState from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea (excluding Gaza for the moment). Those Arabs who live in Judea and Samaria should be offered "permanent residence status" by Israel, which would give them equal CIVIL rights, but not national voting rights. Their children should have a pathway to full Israeli citizenship if they can pledge allegiance to the Jewish state of Israel (like the Druze of the Golan Heights, and Arabs of East Jerusalem). Those Arabs who reject Israeli residence status should be assisted to resettle in another country.

@dianina972 : I'm a traveller and Dahab is one of my homes. I first came to Dahab in 1989, then 1999, and 2011. During the Covid years I spent months and months here, including being here for the 2021 Gaza war and the October 2023 attack. I'm back again and holding the light for everything that's happening just over the border to Israel...🇮🇱🙏💙

I suggest you watch the PragerU 5min video "Does Israel Occupy the West Bank?" where international law professor Eugene Kontorovich explains the international precedents for setting borders of new countries. UN 'resolutions' are not law. Just because people and countries want a Palestinian state, it doesn't mean it should happen. At best it would be another failed Arab state. At worst it would be an even bigger terror-base than they already have.

@Rob-t2e : Of course Israeli society has racial and cultural discrimination, like all countries! But Arab Israeli citizens have the same rights under the law as Israeli Jewish citizens, and other minority citizens such as the Druze, Circassians, Samaritans, Bedouins, Christians, etc. With one exception: the Arabs are exempt from serving in the IDF, but the growing trend is for them to now do so. Israel has the strongest legal case for the 'disputed' land dating back to the 1922 League of Nations agreement for the British Mandate of Palestine which provided for the establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine. The 'Palestinian' leaders have never acknowledged this right of the Jewish state of Israel to exist, and now they've #forfeited any ethical claim to forming a state of their own.

@Rob-t2e : As for your comment about "a land grab", ALL of the British Mandate of Palestine was set aside by the League of Nations for an #indigenous Jewish homeland. The Jewish leaders then had to accept 78% being carved-off for the Arab state of Jordan. This is AFTER the Hejazi Arabs, who also fought alongside the British, were granted self-determination in oil-rich Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. Add Jordan to that list, and you can see that the Arabs were given 99% of the Middle East Ottoman land. Land that was ceded to the British and French, who won a war that they didn't start. Would you be happier with no Jews at all in the Middle East?

@capello85 : Why not look at Professor Eugene Kontorovich's articles on this topic if you don't trust PragerU? Or would you say that because he's an Israeli Jew he's automatically biased? It seems you put value on UN resolutions. Do you seriously think the United Nations is unbiased?🙄The important point the PragerU video makes is regarding *uti possidetis juris*. This is a principle of customary international law that serves to preserve the boundaries of colonies emerging as States.

I suggest you watch the 5min PragerU video called "Does Israel Occupy the West Bank?" where international law professor Eugene Kontorovich outlines the legal precedents for establishing borders of new countries. I'm interested to know what you think of his explanation. The founding of the Jewish state of Israel has nothing to do with which ethnic group was a majority. Remember that the Arabs of Palestine fought AGAINST the Allied Powers (which included the Jews and Arabs of the Hejaz) in WWI? Why would 'enemies' get to choose who ends up with what land after they lost that war in 1918? Why wouldn't the victorious British put people they trust in control of lands which had religious and strategic value to both the British and the Jewish people? They set this out in the 1917 Balfour Agreement, which was incorporated into the League of Nations mandate legislation in 1922. The principle of "indigenous rights" was quite new back then but Israel is a success story, and it is the beginning of the rollback of Arab imperialism. I'm hopeful we will see more indigenous peoples such as the Kurds, Copts, Berbers-Amazigh, Assyrians, Nubians, Yazidis, etc. taking back control of their ancestral land... 🇮🇱🙏💙

I recommend watching the five minute video by PragerU called "Does Israel Occupy the West Bank?" where international law professor Eugene Kontorovich explains the concept of "Uti possidetis juris" (Latin for "as [you] possess under law"). It is a principle of international law which provides that newly formed sovereign states should retain the internal borders that their preceding dependent area had before their independence. Remember that the Ottoman Empire was defeated in 1918. The Ottoman land was then carved-up in 1920, with 99% of it being granted to the Hejazi Arabs. The San Remo Conference in 1920 laid the political foundation for the creation of the 22 Arab League States and the one and only Jewish State of Israel.

The #indigenous Jewish people were granted the legal right to reconstitute their ancestral home in the British Mandate of Palestine. This happened after the Allied Powers defeated the Germans-Ottomans in WWI. The League of Nations in 1922 set out the borders of the new countries, which were under mandates until the occupants could take over. The Arabs of Palestine fought with the Ottomans. They were on the losing side. That has consequences. They could have chosen to ACCEPT the Jewish state of Israel but they still don't and so they have to deal with their choices. #Nakba = own goal.
