  3. I met a lovely man from Gaza in my Downtown Cairo hotel last year. He was on his way to Dubai to sell his Gaza property to a wealthy Arab. Or maybe to an Arab-Jewish real estate company? He couldn't live under Hamas any longer, and was hoping to resettle his whole family in Turkey, but he said his first preference would be to get citizenship of Israel.

  5. Interesting. So letting the weapons into Gaza has come back to bite the Egyptians through the Houthis blockading Suez Canal and the drop in tourism. What a mess! But Egyptians have so much hate for Israel that they'll rationalise this somehow.

  6.  @PaperMicShow : Maybe god doesn't consider that Israel is occupying anyone else's land. It's disputed land, not occupied, and the #indigenous Jewish people have the greater claim. Sadly there are always children killed in wars. Hamas is to blame. Egypt is also complicit for keeping the children and vulnerable people TRAPPED in a war zone.

  7. There's still time for the UAE to fix Gaza in the same way. To make it a Mediterranean version of Dubai. But it would be very difficult to eradicate the ideology of this generation of Gazan people, so I doubt they'll touch it.

  8. It’s an absolutely gorgeous coastline. With an airport it’ll be fine. It’s going to be somewhere for wealthy Gulf Arabs to take their families and friends to. It probably won’t appeal to Europeans though.
