  1. @luke covill it's wasn't "attack", USSR just took away its territories previously captured by Poland - took it from the hole that had already remained of Poland at that time. Otherwise, it would be an extra springboard for the Reich, and nothing more. As for the pacts, one can recall the “Munich Conspiracy” and the role of Poland in the Sudeten crisis.
