  2. one thing to consider, which I have only ever actually seen acknowledged once (in james kakalios' book, the physics of superheroes, when talking about the flash and his super speed) is caloric requirements. there is a reason that goku (and vegeta) are frequently shown as having outrageous appetites: based on their exercise regimens, they clearly have outrageous caloric expenditures, and so they need to eat such massive quantities of food just to survive
