  1. The Greeks don't have the 'w' and the 'y' sound so his name was pronounced as Guilaumes, same as Guilaumes the Conqueror. The Normans are being accused of being "Norse" by the official narrative. Some of them were, but most of them were French, who in turn were slightly Germanic and mostly of Greek colonist stock, as their British cousins (not to be confused with the English).
