Interesting. As the UK is going wind and solar, the electricity is going up. Would only the middle class be able to afford to live in warm and bright homes? Everybody going back to oil lamps and wood stoves?

@nowisgodinyourlovelylife717 No, not offended. Just trying to shine some light on popular urban myths. There is a problem if you say something in public, which is contrary to the official propaganda. You will get scorned, ridiculed, maybe even physically assaulted. Julian Assange is a living testimony. Also how many people lost their jobs for telling the truth about the toxic jabs. It was the same during the worst times of communism. Not worse, exactly the same level of bad.

When we moved to the West from Bulgaria, in the middle of the Cold War, I didn't have to learn a single new thing. All the obedience mechanisms were in place and identical - I didn't have to learn to say one thing in public, endorse the official lies with fake enthusiasm, but say completely another thing among very close circle of friends. I didn't have to learn to be vigilant for snitches and back-stabbers at work or in the brotherhood, Stasi culture was alive and thriving in the West. The only thing that was different - the money was better and the shops offered more choice.

@nowisgodinyourlovelylife717 Hang on to that job because you might not be lucky to get another. Jobs are fewer and fewer every year. I'd save up and move to a country with a cheaper standard of living. Many British move to South East Asia, where they can make a good life with 100 thousand pounds even.

@gillwil Try an oil lamp. Used oil is easy to get for free. You can make one very easy, fill a cup with oil, make a wick float from wine cork by cutting a section and make a hole to run the wick through. One bottle of oil will keep you lighted for month.
