  1. It is insane but I think there is a method to their madness. They want to polarise the elections as much as possible in order to ensure adequate voter turnout. Because, lets face it, people are tired and wouldn't be bothered to waste their time voting. If they mange to get at least 2/3rds voting, they feel legitimised and empowered. I think it was George Carlin who said - "don't vote, it only encourages them!"
