How is Kosovo "ancestral lands" when they only held it for less than 200 years when they lost it? Shouldn't Bulgaria then claim its Belgrade back? @Lomnjac007 He also missed the part - that Serbs are not a nation. There is Bulgarian minority in Albania, there is a Bulgarian minority in Hungary, there used to be a Bulgarian minority in Serbia (before you "convinced" them to leave). Don't you find it strange that "Serbia" is surrounded by Bulgarian minorities. Which other nation has such situation?

If you tell them that you are ex-Bulgarian separatists, maybe they will recognise your Bulgarian dialect.

@cinoeye Ahem, can you cite the source of anyone in the Balkans calling themselves "Slavs" or "Proto-Slavs" during the middle ages. The word "Serbian" is denied even by your own creative historians (and my god, are they creative, ever). They claim a number of "Origin" names for "Serbia" - Rashka, Zagorie, etc. What gives you the right to privatise my language and my toponyms and re-brand them "Serbian"? You are separatists like the "Ukrainians". I have nothing against your desire to be on your own and separate, but please do not privatise my history.

@cinoeye So your reply is - "might means right". I am not discussing the Colonial Powers' victory in giving away half of Bulgaria to its neighbours. I am discussing YOUR right to nationalistic fanaticism, because your pre 12th century history is fiction, and anybody can try and corroborate it and see for themselves.

@cinoeye If you are still not getting it - I am not a fan of the medieval Greek name-calling - "serfs" and "slaves" aka "Serbs" and "Slavs", and I think your own historians are not very enthusiastic about it either.

@Slavic_Goblin You can tell what Bulgaria controlled because Greek is not spoken there and the Bulgarian alphabet is used. Bulgaria is well behind Poland and the Ukraine in terms of stolen cars, but ok.😃

@Slavic_Goblin The first Bulgarian capital was Bilyar. Bolyar is a unique Bulgarian court title found only in Bulgaria, Ukraine and Russia. It is true that Bulgaria promoted "Slavic" and imported it to Russia, but this was because the Volga was very international place. Actually Bulgaria is a Latinised form of Volgaria. There were already Slavic speaking tribes in Old Bulgaria. If you are looking fore "pure"..."Slavs", don't look in Bulgaria, Ukraine and Russia. We are mixed with Turkic, Ugric, Finnic, Scythian tribes, etc. Your best place to look is probably Czechia and Slovakia. I don't know exactly how "Slavic" they are but I am throwing it in.
