  19.  suzanne farrington  Poppycock! Putin's speech outlined 3 objectives. 1. Protect the people of Donbas 2. Demilitarise Ukraine 3. Denazify Ukraine At no point did he say we want to annex Ukraine. So Kiev was never a serious objective. Capturing it may have ended the war and saved lives, but USUK's puppet Junta opened indiscriminate artillery fire on Bucha, killing 100 civilians for every Russian soldier. The Russians realised that taking Kiev will get a million civilians killed by the Junta, so they left it alone.
