My brother is married to a Mexican woman from Vera Cruz, and she is a prize. My neighbors are Mexicans from Monterrey, and I am 66 years old, and I can honestly say in my entire life, I have never had more wonderful, generous neighbors than they. I mean this lady shows up at my door spontaneously with Mexican breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and they are terrific!!! Such a sweetheart, and her husband is a caballero de verdad. In his 70s, with type 1 diabetes, off to work every day, dialysis 3 times a week, JESUS!!! "Feo, fuerte y formal."

Jake, at 10:10, the picture on the right is of Matt Gaetz and Joel Greenberg to his left, our right. Greenberg, the former corrupt tax collector of Seminole County, is now in prison, convicted of many serious felonies including but not limited to fraud and, if I'm not mistaken, "consorting" with minor women. And do you see that shoulder and hand below it at the very right margin of the photograph with these TWO alleged (one's convicted) pedophiles? At an angle making it impossible to be Greenberg's? Why that's the right arm of none other than Florida governor Ron DeSantis, a big runnin' buddy of theirs back in the day. For reals. Google all three of them together in a "picture" and you'll find it. Sure as shootin'. Oh, and Gaetz's daddy is a multimillionaire Florida panhandle geezer and state legislator, planning a return to the state senate. Money can buy a lot of silence about the misdeeds of a failson. In theory.

Russia declared war on a nation with a long, long and very porous border with it, people who speak its language in the main, and now obviously, people willing to kill Russian orcs with absolute enthusiasm and alacrity. It HAS to be the case that there are Russian speaking and Russian surnamed Ukrainian sappers and guerillas POURING, P-O-U-R-I-N-G into Russia presently, and since February at least, and that they will continue to do so. This war was the height of stupidity on Russia's part. Now let them pay the price. ALL of them, ALL civil and military authority, and ALL of these absolute vampires atop Russian propaganda media. I'd love to read about Solovyev's head found in a ditch very soon, and Sakharova's and that RT harpy's too. That'd quiet them down a bit, I'd think.

Jake, no offense, but that lower video is not of the Ukrainian's "match point win", but rather of another occasion, an earlier win against a Russian at the World Cup, when she was suspended for what she did in the match, at the end, shown here. She held the Russian she'd just defeated away from her with the point of her foil. It THRILLED me. I got a little choked up! She stood there with an "I dare you to approach me. I DARE YOU!!!!" look. She had a perfect, righteous hauteur to her pose, before turning and walking away. That scene should be a statue in Kiev's main square immediately. Hey, maybe you could raise money for THAT!

If you don't mind, I think Biden's answer was the perfect answer, especially with a faltering voice under the whirring blades of his helicopter. It wasn't the time for lengthy answers, threats or treacle. It was short and to the point. I've asked questions and helped craft answers for a living for four decades. Biden made it clear he's communicated with Ukraine about the issue, and that there are agreed upon parameters. Unsurprisngly, he knows Ukraine wants to take steps that the US does not agree with, and he made that clear too. He said all that needed to be said. Any more would have devolved into a more lengthy blatherfest in front of cameras, with a greater potential for misunderstanding between we two allies. Ukraine may not like where we are, but it's where we are for all the well-understood reasons. Less IS more. Brevity IS the soul of wit, and wit is wit, and not merely a "sense of humor." Biden "Keeps his wits about himself."

Jake, on Ukraine, please call out Florida representatives Matt Gaetz and Anna Paulina Luna early and often on their contemptible pro-Putin hideousness on the question of Ukraine aid. Gaetz represents Florida's 1st Congressional District, which includes about 3 US military bases, and has many retirees - and they can't think their ways through this? It's disgusting. They, and other GOP FL Reps, are Putin's leprous, bloody, genocidal hand in our US congress. Please nail them to the wall. We should point out that if retreat from Ukraine means a Russia v NATO war within ten years, young American men and women will be fighting and dying in it and it will last for years. Those American kids are now 2, 3, 5, or 10 years old, and maybe even unborn. ALL Americans should look at their young kids, their plans for kids, and their little grandkids today, and try to think ahead about what they're consigning those kids to in the future with their present monstrous foolishness.

By the way, one day in his thirties, while in the state legislature I think, Gaetz was found to have taken into his schwinging batchelor pad a little hispanic boy of unclear origins, probably Cuban, about ten years old, named "Nestor." That kid lived there with Gaetz for about a decade, without ever going through any kind of adoption process with all the "fitness / background checking and analysis" the state adoption process and laws require - ever. Then Nestor turned 18 and went off to university. And Nestor or the idea even of Gaetz having a "son" ever showed up on his official political biographies anywhere. No, it didn't come out until during the Trump administration, when on the floor of the House Gaetz got into a pissing match with LA Rep. Cedric Richmond, and spilled that he "knew what it was like to raise a son of color." Many jaws dropped, but still, no one has ever asked the right and obvious questions about that arrangement.

I wonder if, in 1989, Russians ever imagined that this cess pit of hatefulness, corruption, massacre, genocide, deceit, arrogance, torture, delusion, aggression and retrograde barbarism and indifference TO it would be their country in 2024. Personally, I think it was predictable. I have read SO many novels and histories over the years that depict Russia's complete contempt for human dignity, it had to happen. Russia's leaders have preferred it be a Vampires' plantation breeding meat sacks for consumption only for hundreds of years. There has NEVER been justice in Russia. Ever.

So there's no mistake, those idiots drawling and braying their admiration and approval of Putin would happily do the same thing to those who oppose them within this nation that Putin is intent on doing to Ukraine and NATO beyond it, including this country. They are truly Putin's Fifth Column in this country. It's who they are, its what they are, its how they think. Do you think mass killing of their enemies is "too far" to go for them? Oh, you are so, SO sadly mistaken. Those people don't have an ATOM of anything worth the name "patriotism" for the USA in their souls. They would sell it ALL to Putin in exchange for a big screen 5G TV and the sight of the burned bodies of their enemies lying shattered in the street outside their trailers. That's where we are, America. Don't kid yourselves. Do you think THEY think they don't really have it so bad, and so couldn't be motivated to participate in that, really? Germany was at its cultural pinnacle in the Weimar era, during the ascent of Hitler and Nazism. They were the most literate, cultured, philosophically attuned society in Europe. And they fell for Hitler in the wink of an eye.

Re Trump surrounded by those cops in uniform at 37:13 - Monday, in a press conference, the Martin County Sheriff described the arrest of the alleged shooter at Trump on Sunday. He then mentioned approvingly that Trump invited the arresting officers to his Palm Beach hive for a soiree'. This should be absolutely off the table. Everywhere, we see Trump and DeSantis surrounding themselves with police in uniform. These two are obvious law-breaking authoritarians, and this is not good. Trump is a convicted criminal many times over, with more convictions to come. DeSantis is provably heedless of law. The code of ethics of the Florida Sheriffs Association prohibits action that would damage standing and credibility of the uniform and the agency. These group shots and get-togethers do that damage. They amount, inescapably, to an endorsement of one side of the omnipresent political fray. In 2018, a decorated 27-year veteran of the Broward County Sheriff's Office was reprimanded and reassigned for posing in a group photo with Vice President Pence wearing a "QAnon" patch on his uniform. He deserved punishment. That patch is no different than wearing a patch with Trump's leering face, or Ron DeSantis's, on the uniform. The group pictures with candidates serve the same purpose, expressing fealty to something far short of law and order. The candidate, whoever it is, seeks to draw undeserved credibility from the uniform. And the pose, and socializing between cops and criminals DOES bleed credibility from the uniform, in a way that is obviously unethical and should be forbidden. This isn't a close call.

The population of the USA during the Civil War was about 34 million people. By some authorities, 620,000 soldiers were killed during that war through its 4 years or so, or about 2% of the entire US population then. Ukraine's population in 2021 was about 41 million, and estimates are that in one year since the invasion, close to 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed. That's on pace for over 400,000 to be killed through 4 years, which would be about 1% of Ukraine's 2021 population. And of course, the losses could be much, much higher depending on how far south things could go. This is the scale of sacrifice these Ukrainians are enduring to rescue their country from Russian totalitarian mobsterism.

What you get out of Dmitry Medvedyev is what you got from a mob state, not a legitimate civil state. Russia isn't a civil state. It is a mob territory, and deranged threats and menace are the coin of the realm in a mob territory. It's been this way since the beginnign with this Russian trash. Mobsters, not statesmen, not diplomats, not patriots. Just filthy mobsters. And yes, they DO need to be treated like mobsters. If we ever get the opportunity, either through direct action or Russian patriotic forces, every single nuclear weapon in their arsenal, the missiles in their silos, needs to be drowned in salt water and sealed shut forever. At least. The world needs to finally pull the fangs out of these vampires - for good.

Jake, on TV right now, there's an interview with journalist Gary Shteyngart, who has an article in the current issue of "The Atlantic", about Russian propaganda dissemination in Russian state TV non-news as well as news programs. Shteyngart left Russia with his family when he was 8, and he looks to be in his fifties now. It's pretty gripping and interesting. Shteyngart watched Russian state TV for 5 days straight, and draws some startling and interesting conclusions about the measure of and nature of propaganda infiltration into EVERYTHING the older, 'TV generation' there, are absorbing. Lots of triumphalism, weird inferiority, and license for violence. "Russia as the noble but jilted lover, spurned by the world, entitled to respond with brutality." And lots of impotence "cures" to be used together with alcohol. It's nuts.

Jake, I have lived in FL since 1971, since I came here as a teen. Rubio was in the state legislature with exactly zero experience making a living with his law degree. He came to the legislature as a young "Latin Idol" candidate, having lied on his resume about being an exile from Fidel, when he was born in the USA to parents who left Cuba TWO YEARS before Fidel's takeover in Cuba. But that lie was catnip to South Florida Righty Fascist exiles and their offspring, and the rest is history. He's never been anything but a lying, preening, third rate hustler, and it doesn't surprise me to see the disgrace he's made of himself already on the global stage. It was foreordained. He is absolutely disgusting. He knows NOTHING about negotiating, and obviously, he knows nothing about the Russian monsters he is dealing with. He has NO capacity to deal respectfully with Ukraine, because he is under the spell of TRUMP, and only evil and betrayal flow from Trump.

Mitt Romney is describing the exact same species of TREASON that Richard Nixon committed when, as LBJ was trying to reach a peace deal with the North Vietnamese long ago in 1968, Nixon sent his corrupt emmisary to South Vietnam to urge their corrupt president to oppose any deal LBJ was promoting on the grounds that Nixon, if elected, would get them a better deal. Nixon did NOT get the South Vietnamese a better deal, and is responsible for an ADDITIONAL 20,000 PLUS DEAD AMERICAN SOLDIERS during the period AFTER he took office that the war continued, from 1969 until 1973. LBJ called it treason, but for some reason never raised absolute hell about it. And he bowed out of the next election, went home to Texas, and basically drank himself to death. This is the effect the EVIL have on our nation, and on our history.

I think Zelensky is off the mark when he says Trump has fallen for Russian disinformation, but he's just trying to be diplomatic for his country's sake. I suspect he'd like to tear Trump's gizzard out with his bare hands. I and billions of people around the world would too, I'm sure. But the fact is that Trump knows what he's doing, and that he's a traitor to the USA and the world, and to every alliance we have, and that he is bought and paid for by Putin. All this happy talk from Rubio, Waltz and Witkoff, three grotesque, gaslighting, corrupt failures, describing removal of sancitons and restoration of energetic trade ties, is euphemism for a darker truth - Putin has decided to make Trump another of his oligarchs, to get a vig from all that trade, and Trump's all in.

Funny story about a Belgian Malinois.Years ago, I deposed an FHP Trooper in a crash case I had. After the depo, we were talking outside beside his Ford Explorer Canine FHP unit, and as we talked, the dog, a BM, was inside going berserk. Just yipping and yapping CONSTANTLY AND RAPIDLY. It was unbearable. He opened the door, and the dog was in this little sheet steel-lined cubicle inside the door, and it went even wilder once he opened the door. It was spinning like a top inside that cubicle. I said to the Trooper, "Honest to God, does he do that all day? It's unbearable." And he said, "Yes he does it all day long, and it drives me outta my fckng mind. Honestly, I'm thinking of quitting." I thought that was sad but hilarious. This one seems pretty calm in comparison to what I've seen.

One of the scariest obvious realities, to me, is that there are millions of Americans who would applaud and participate in exactly what you described. The same thing was true of Nazi Germany. Once a malign revolutionary seizes power and begins to terrorize some commonly beset part of the population, people who had insisted they never would participate in that begin to fall in line out of fear, or malign ambition. Suddenly, the menace spreads beyond the Jews, Blacks, Muslims, Gays, Gypsies, Socialists or "subversives", and is deployed against EVERYBODY in the society, including loyalists, as the dictator grows more power mad and paranoid. Read what Hitler did to his loyal SA columnists and Ernst Rohm. And look how Trump treats and slanders those he claims are "disloyal" to him. He's nuts. Look what Trump has done to the entire GOP. He has revealed it, and destroyed it as anything like a positive force in this country. And this happened almost overnight. Gary Abernathy, a GOP Righty pundit, said a few years ago "The GOP was always this, just waiting for its Trump to come along." Yeah, we know Gary. We know.

It's interesting, these Russians' desperation about their cold living conditions. i'm old enough to remember when they felt nothing but glee and psychopathic satisfaction at the multitude of Ukrainian deaths due to exposure to winter in the steppes, after the Russian rabble army of war criminals attacked Ukraine and its power generating and transmitting stations. In fact, they STILL feel that glee, I'm sure. The residents of No. 10 say that they're not at the front, but they feel under siege!!! Heaven forFEND!!! No, Sister, the Ukrainians ARE at the front, and ARE under seige. Shall we shed a tear for these fatally passive, disinterested Russians, who swallow every snotty syllable of what their propagandists tell them? Nah. I don't think so.

Jake, you have made clear that you understand the fact that 60 days before the election, the administration justly believes it must tread carefully because what it does now has absolutely broad implications it will leave for Kamala Harris (hopefully) to deal with, and she will want and need the widest latitude possible for decision making. I see Ben Hodges all over Youtube in video after video, voice overs, waxing waxily on every issue under the sun, and I wonder if his exposure - his overexposure - isn't driven by some discreet, questionable motive. I just wonder. Anyway, the dynamics haven't changed since several days ago when you confirmed you understood very well. I am sure there will be further movement by our administration, and it will be shaped to address the danger and damage Ukraine faces. I also suspect Putin is ramping up the bestiality of what he does precisely because the American election is in the offing, as you say. But language suggesting the Biden administration "has done nothing" isn't helpful, and is short-sighted. Didn't Zelensky postpone a presidential election in the last year because of the wartime situation? It effects our politics too, as you know.

He's 80. He had a cold. He'd probably taken some cold med or other. He was likely over-prepared by his staff. But only being 80 and having a cold will look like he did most of the time. And he was fine in North Carolina today, clear, energetic and well-received. I'm voting for Biden. His opponent is a 34x convicted felon with more convictions heading his way - a lot more. He's a rapist, a pathological liar, a fraud and a cheat. I don't understand how his enthusiasts don't understand what that means for his conduct in power. He was stone cold sober apparently, and apart from still coming off as deranged through the last half of the debate, he lied incessantly about every single subject, and there were many, because he has the concentration of a horse fly, and hit every subject under the sun. And lied about all of them. There is no choice. I'm voting for Biden too. He has been an able, admirable figurehead for an administration full of very capable talented, younger people. Together they have done great things. I want more of that. I'm not gonna sweat Joe looking 80 and tired for 45 minutes last night.

Johnson is a small town, bush league lawyer from an area where all you need to get ahead, and elected, is to jabber "in tongues", and brand yourself a "KRIS - CHIN", and you can impress the rubes and gather votes and power, and that's what Johnson's done to get where he is. The MAGA GOP wanted a weak fish in that job, but once he was in, the Dems saw him as a likely, possible tool too, and so now Johnson is in a role he can't think his way out of, he's working with the Dems as he MUST and so enraging the bonkers "Freedom Caucus", and lacks the intellectual resources, ethics and morality to do the right thing.

I hope that once the moment comes, Ukraine's plan for DPR and LPR "leadership" traitors is a terminal plan, with no interest in "rehabilitation." They have earned their fates, and could never be trusted again. Since NO one trusts a traitor, even the ones who made them such, these traitors have no future in Russia, so no "humanitarian" concerns for them need be considered. Their filthy bones, burned to ash, may make a proper mortar for the masonry of a renewed Ukraine, and let it be so. One last way to serve their country, after so much treason.

"Exaggerating the importance of death" in Russian propaganda. I was talking to my brother, who speaks a little Russian (more than), and had a business dealing with Russians until - unwilling to bribe and menace - he realized he could never succeed with the business. I was talking to him about how the climate in Moscow and most of Russia - frigid - probably explains their monstrous personalities and inhumanity, and he said something interesting. He said Russians have a very "village mentality", and not a good village. A village of mean desires and unworthy aims, full of bitter jealousy and mutual hatred. I was shocked to see that Kiev is at latitude 50 degrees, 10 degrees farther north than New York City, and Moscow is even farther north at 55 degrees. No wonder it snowed in Moscow on "Victory (thanks to the USA, whom they hate) Day." In the Russian village occupying one sixth of the earth's land mass, all hold all others in laughable, un-self aware contempt. A village where all residents despise each other and are constantly trying to cheat, and shiv, and backbite and one up each other. It's the way they've been for over 1000 years, it's broad-based and pervasive, and it will never change. It's why raw, barbaric, unjudicious power is the only currency. They hate themselves in their remote solitude, and so hate all others, and can tell themselves any appalling lie to convince themselves of their non-existent "superiority", and exhaust incredible amounts of energy in trying. Sounded right to me. If the USA is the "indispensable nation", and it is, then Russia has made itself the "expendable nation", and in a big, irreversible way. You can see it in their elevation of barbaric massacre without apology to a national credo. They have no hope of actual civilization, know it, and so have abandoned the idea. Their model is the suave serial killer and terrorist bent on mass killing. Hannibal Lector and Carlos the Jackal - so admirable. And you can really hear that in Putin's saying, to the effect, "What good is the world without Russia in it?" The world would actually be so, SO much better without Russia in it.

Hey, Jake - Old Joe had a very good evening tonight with his press conference. It wasn't perfect, but he didn't mention water pressure, toilets, showers, enemies, Putin love, or the usual nonsense we hear from his competition a single time. Try to imagine TFG being able to answer most of those foreign policy and NATO questions - at all. Only two days ago, on a podium in Doral FL, Trump admitted that when he took office in January 2017, he "really didn't know anything about NATO." Just imagine the breathtaking horror of that admission. Many of us knew then that was true.
