  1. I've always read the health benefits outweigh the down sides. Here's a study on HIV. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1198743X16302683. It's not just HIV rates that are lower though - it's all STDs. Keep in mind that there is no test for HPV in men! Women can't ask men to get tested for HPV, yet they can get cancer from men infected with cancerous varieties. For some reason, circumcised men have lower rates of HPV. Agree that it's cruel to perform a circumcision with no anesthesia on a newborn!!!
