  1. I occasionally read stuff at a web site for women that tends toward radical feminism sentiments. The majority of the readers have Masters or PhDs and are in their 20s and 30s. I once said in the comment section that Trump could win because the left turned their backs on the working class. You know what the women said? They said that the working class didn't matter because they were just a bunch of white men who once had all the privilege and now they were angry because they no longer had it. Since when did the working class ever have the kind of privilege these highly educated women have every day of their lives? We talked about the impact of undocumented workers pushing wages down in a country where working class jobs are already drastically reduced. They denied this was happening and reiterated that Trump supporters were just angry white men. I pointed out that we've never opened the floodgates to bring in professional classes of people in equal numbers as undocumented blue collar workers. I said that if we had, THEIR professional salaries would have plummeted also. It fell on deaf ears. They insisted that there are plenty of technical workers coming into the country. Well, NO, the number of educated workers legally immigrating to America is nowhere near the number of undocumented blue collar workers that pour over the border. This blind spot is crazy for such educated people to have. They have all the privilege, but accuse blue collar men of being bitter that they no longer have privilege. They never had it; they just used to have jobs that paid the bills.
