  1. Do you actually think women should risk becoming bag ladies so they don't hurt your feelings? A woman has to pay her bills. She has to save money or she is risking living in poverty in old age.

  2.  @FergusScotchman  College-educated couples have the lowest divorce rates these days - somewhere in the 20-something percentage. But of course you are correct that having children with two people working long hours is ridiculous. It's really great if women can have a job that can be ramped up or down depending on what's going on. Medical jobs are good like that, but I'm too squeamish for those jobs. The thing I think channels like this don't understand is how individual women's lives are. We don't all have the same situations or destiny. For me, the stars aligned so I could do this thing and I feel blessed. Other women might be like my grandmother. She saw my grandfather on their first day of high school, and immediately knew she was going to marry him. It wasn't something she could explain except that it was a "knowing". They married at age 24 and neither of them ever thought of marrying anyone else.

  3. And yet . . . I personally know two women in their mid-sixties dating men in their age range. One of them is even dating two men.

  10.  @FergusScotchman  It's NOT the goal to tread water to bag a man. Most married women work. To just sit around hoping to get married means the woman is a real dummy who is willing to risk her future. And it's unrealistic for you to say it's a hobby just because it doesn't matter to you. It matters to them. Most parents who care about their daughters want them to be able to support themselves.

  11.  @FergusScotchman  I'm divorced. I'm launching a business in May that I've worked on for a year to create. I'm not looking for anyone myself, so the discussion doesn't pertain to me. However to assume career women "wait" until their 30s to look for a husband is just that - an assumption. Many people are open to marriage, but never meet anyone they want to marry. I have come to realize we put too high a value on romantic relationships and too little value on all other relationships. I was always in a romantic relationship from my mid-teens all the way to my marriage and after my divorce. It eventually dawned on me that romantic relationships were never the highest peaks of love or happiness in my life.

  13. The most common jobs that women have is in the caring professions - nurse, doctor, medical technician, nurse practitioner, etc ... They'll be fine.
