  1. Two years ago, grocery prices in the US were no where near what they are now. What you experienced is the NEW normal. However $250 for a restaurant meal for 4 people is not normal for a US restaurant. Where on earth did you eat dinner?

Californians who move to other states are always shocked by what they consider to be low housing prices. Also, housing prices everywhere have skyrocketed recently due to a supply problem caused by the 2008 recession when builders quit building houses for a long time, plus inflation.
