The pill enables married women who need to avoid pregnancy to actually have a sex life with their husbands. The pill's side effect are different from woman to woman. Also, it's been demonstrated that having endless periods over a lifetime isn't healthy either. The pill lowers the risk of endometrial and ovarian cancer, while it slightly increases other cancers. It's not one size fits all.
