8th developed economy and still have the highest debt to gdp in EU. The Italians have low income tax. That's what's the problem here. If a recession comes Italy is in deep shit.

@flameplane7646 Compared to my country the Netherlands or any northern country it is very low. 23 percent to 43 percent in Italy. In the Netherlands it's this... € 0 - 69.399 37,07% € 69.399+ 49,50% A total difference of 20%. Much higher and we don't have universal healthcare in the Netherlands. That's another 2000 a year with dental. You can see why northern Europe doesn't want any free loans to Italy anymore.

@CFS1822 Doesn't matter who the debt belongs too. When interest rates go sky high and no bank want to invest the economy is gonna fall. Italy has been bailed out twice already. Northern Europe is not gonna give Italy free money again. Next time Italy is on their own.
