What did the US defend in Europe for the last 80 years? EU countries are actually fighting and supporting US wars all this time.

@skylanh4319 That's definitely not true. Only if you count Canada and Brazil as the US. It's also not like prices are very low in the US. Europe could be self reliant on gas and oil, but not now. It would take at least to 2035 to get enough houses off gas in Europe. 2030 for cars to be all electric. This really showed Europe how important it is to get off fossil fuels as fast and as much as possible. The war in Ukraine will be long over by then though. Russia can't fight a war that long without going broke. Every year Ukraine's army strenght doubles, so Russia needs to intensify war effords which costs money. The are already using emergency funds to keep the Russian economy afloat. That money will run out eventually and faster every year they are at war.

@gilbertreeves2084 Maybe also review all the former Soviet Union countries and how many of those want the Soviet Union back. Because it's zero. Nobody wants it back. Most of them even condemned Russia for Ukraine.

@gilbertreeves2084 Look up Soviet union oppression and famine.

@gilbertreeves2084 six high profile oligarchs and executives are death since January by by "suicide". 4 of them worked for Gazprom. 2 of them killed their whole families with themselves. Coincidence!? Hell no! This is how Russia or the former Soviet Union operates. Political opponents are being killed or jailed. Putting Union after Soviet is a lie. They even assasinated Russian political opponents of the regime in Europe. The Soviet Union is also famous for famine caused by the Russian(Soviet) regime. Don't forget who Stalin was! Everybody says Hitler was worse, but Stalin killed more people than Hitler. A detail most people tend to forget these days. The Marshall plan was put in place because of Soviet expansion and agression in Europe by the Soviet Union after world war 2. 'education is the cure for ignorance.'

@Cloud-dq1mr Putin is bad, but Stalin was way worse. Stalin killed even more people than Adolf Hitler.

@Cloud-dq1mr The Nazi went west first in WW1. Don't forget that. My country the Netherlands was even neutral, but the Nazi's attacked and killed everybody anyway. So sorry if i don't buy the story of Nazi's only wanting to go east. There was never one Russian soldier in my country. I also don't know which movie or show you saw, but i don't think there was ever a movie Americans saving Berlin. Maybe Paris, Eindhoven, Brussels, Rome or Vienna but never Berlin. The Americans were also supplying the Russians almost the whole war. The Russians stayed in all of east Europe by the way. They were actually the new occupiers of east Europe. They freed nobody for over 40 years. East Europe just had a new evil occupier. America only got really in this war because the attack on Pearl Harbor. That's the only bad thing you can say about them. Still respect for all the service men who fought for freedom. I was lucky i was born on the American side of the wall in the early 80s. I saw the Berlin wall being torn down on television. That was actually really the end of WW2. People who lived on the east of the wall tried to escape over the wall every day to the west. They got shot down and killed. The wall was there so nobody could escape the east. That's what i remember about the Soviet Union as a child.

@ScrubbyBubbles You do now without Europe the US loses all their trade routes and the dollar. The belt and road from China ends in Europe. From Europe to the US. Almost all trade goes through Europe first. Middle east, Africa and Asia. That's the advantage of a land connection. Looking at the debt levels of the US that won't end well. Better you play nice and don't lose your last allies in the world.

@ScrubbyBubbles Who is actually criticizing who? Sounds like you're criticizing Europe. I'm very curious what you know about internal politics of all of Europe's countries. Not much i'm thinking. How's your Italian, Portugese, Bulgarian, German or Dutch. Non existing i'm guessing. If we criticize the US it's because they dropped another bom on civilians. You do know that the US is the only western country that not recognize the international court and that the US is always prosecuting people all over Europe. The US even tapped the phone of Angela Merkel. Nobody is safe in Europe from the US. Maybe it's time we prosecute Americans i guess. Let's send George W Bush jr. first to the court. Then all the presidents that kept Guantanamo open. Everybody that worked there too. Let's send them all to jail. We've been letting the US slide away with everything over the years. Imagine Germany tapping the phone of Joe Biden. Oh man. People would go to jail forever. All kind of sanctions would be in place. It's almost we're used to the shit the US pulls every time.. The US is always messing with Europe, not the other way around.
