They didn't say no yet. It also seems fair to me the EU pays for these tanks and not Germany alone. Tanks and ammo don't come cheap. I'm not from Germany by the way.

@MrZenGuitarist i agree. It would be a offensive weapon. If we cross this line fighter jets and long range missiles are on the table too. Which should be the next step anyways.

@MrZenGuitarist Not yet part of NATO! I don't think the German politicians are corrupted by Russia. They did a lot already until now. I think it's more the mindset of the German people because of their history of war. The word Nazi is also being used a lot in Russia. They really don't want to be the ones to escalate this war. I really think in the end Leopard tanks will get the OK from Germany though.

@dudeatx You don't want the Polish border next to the Russian border at all. That would start a nuclear war for sure. Polish people hate Russia to the core. I don't blame them too. The Soviet Union was terrible to them. Imagine dividing your country by Hitler and Stalin and be under Soviet occupation after that for over 50 years killing millions of Polish people.

You're blaming Scholz for a nuclear attack or escalation!? Remember who send tanks into Ukraine first or who pushes that button! Why is the much stronger NATO army is the one to have to back down for escalation?

@sandymastermind2669 Then we use a tactical nuke. If we don't he will be keep doing it. We need to send the troops in too if he does use a nuke. Preferably Belarus. Make him lose Belarus too as punishment.

@sandymastermind2669 The alternative is to do nothing and just wait until Russian soldiers knock on your door and put a gun to you children's head to make you vote for Russia in a referendum. Because he won't ever stop. Don't think he will stop at Ukraine. Hitler did the same thing at the start of WW2. Putin said already he want the Soviet Union back. He attacked Kyiv at the start of the war but he said he just wanted the Donbass. He even lied to his own soldiers that they just could walk in. He killed people on western soil. He killed somebody in the US and the UK. We should've sanctioned Russia back then and build our army's. We are letting him get away with murder for too long. The Russian constitution says that all of Russia should vote in a referendum to separate a province from Russia. Just like the Ukrainian constitution. So according to Russian law a referendum of a Donbass/Crimea would've been illegal too. Imagine what Putin would've done to a province like the Donbass. People would be hanging from trees. He would killed millions if he had too. There's no deal to be made with Putin. You can't trust him. He needs to feel the strength of NATO to make him stop.

This all is exactly why we need a EU army. We do need to get rid of Hungary in the EU though. I don't think they said yes on anything without asking for something.

I'm from the Netherlands. I didn't know we were buying those tanks. PM Rutte was defending Germany this week. He said it isn't a easy choice for Germany. They're our number one ally though. I'm glad we offered to buy these tanks. More countries should do this in the EU.
