Only way is having cheap labor, that Americans will have to do, because Trump is gonna deport the cheap labor force. 49% of the agricultural workforce is undocumented immigrants that all need to be replaced by American workers for the same salary and the same hardworking effort. If you don't, prices will go up or productivity goes down. It will probably do both. Making prices go up in the grocery store. It never works. The US has always had the most multinational companies since after WW2. If other countries tariff imports too, which they certainly will. You see the opposite, companies that export now from the US will have leave to US to be competitive in other countries to avoid the counter tariff.

@jamesharper8373 You would need energy to do that. It will cost you energy to do that. Since Trump isn't a fan of cheap green energy, there's a problem with that.

@bencharlie9509 Yeah right. That's why Musk his batteries all come from China. At least parts do. 23% from total Tesla revenue comes from China. All import tariffs do is make export from other countries expensive. The problem with a universal tariff is that the US is a 330 million population market and the rest of the world a 7.9 billion market.

Debt free is impossible these days. Just from student loans you can buy a small house and the interest is insane. How am i gonna pay my student loan without a degree on minimum wage? Impossible.

@geocam2 Yeah right, when a country exports something to the US, their own customs are gonna collect the tariff for the US from themselves and send the money to the US. Think!

@Shock_Treatment You definitely didn't see the cars China makes these days. BYD makes longer range and more decked out cars than Tesla. The brand Volvo is also Chinese owned. Ever seen the interior a Volvo lately. You do realize for Tesla to be in China, they need to show the blueprint of the car. I suggest you look up some train and metro stations in China or the Bullet train. This isn't the China of 40 years ago. In building infrastructure they are way ahead of the US. Even in tech they are ahead, because ASML the Netherlands in Europe makes the US chip technology that all the tech companies need. You can't even do that in the US. ASML only sells to the US right now. If they sell to China it will be over for the US. I hope my country pulls ASML and sell it to China if you dare to tariff our goods.

@Lightningbug122 Wouldn't even matter lowering taxes. If you pay 10% more for ever Mexican beer or Whisky you drink, then you pay way more than you get in return from tax cuts. Number 1 imported good that gets imported is probably alcohol. Vodka, Tequila, Rum, Wine, Corona, Heineken, Jack Daniels, all the really good stuff. 10% to 20% more. Maybe with alcohol you will understand how screwed the US is with this tariff policy. Trump won't care, he's a billionaire who doesn't even drink or goes grocery shopping. Like 90% of herbs and spices are made abroad too, so almost every dish with flavour will be more expensive.

🤣 The US will always lose the battle on tariffs on cars. Trump has 4 European cars and Musk has 8 European cars. All the MAGA influencers drive European sports cars. We just make way better cars in Europe. It's not even a remotely close battle. You do realize China is a way bigger market for selling cars for us, than the US is. China is the biggest growing car market in the world. You can't even make a electric car without China, not even Tesla. Same with fashion. Melania is wearing Dior dresses and has a whole collection of Louis Vuitton bags. If you put a label in there "made in the US" and it would be worth nothing anymore at all. Same goes for Trump his Ferrari or Rolls Royce. Put "made in the US" in there and it will be seen as a fake Ferrari or a fake Rolls Royce. We don't but US cars in Europe because of a little tariff, we don't buy them because the US makes awful cars. Only Tesla sells here and that is only because give a high subsidy for electric cars to people who buy them. That depends on which country by the way. Guess which country want to kill Tesla in Europe by letting Chinese state subsidized electric cars in without high tariffs? Yep, Trump his best buddy Orban from Hungary. The biggest communist in the EU. You do realize Orban is the biggest enemy of US manufacturing in Europe. He wants Europe to buy Russian gas instead of American and Chinese cars instead of American. Trump is a ragdoll for Orban, Putin and Xi. A easy mark. It's completely the US media and influencers fault Americans think capitalist Sweden is bad somehow and communist Hungary is good somehow. Orban was even born in the Soviet Union and lived there for 38 years. Everything is free in Hungary, education, healthcare and free public transportation if you older than 65. No free media or real freedom of speech too. In Sweden only education is free, while being a rich nation, Hungary is a poor nation. Venezuela poor with rising debt. It's time start to wake up in America. Preferably before the election, but there's always the second amendment.

@GrimmGaming3000 Yeah, Japan is gonna love a universal tariff on all their goods. You do realize all countries of the world are now gonna work together to counter those tariffs, even the most friendly ones. What do you think the EU is gonna do if Trump gives away territory of Ukraine and put a tariff on every European product? Europe will drop the dollar and go with China. Japan is also pro Ukraine even were in the last NATO summits with South Korea, because of North Korea joining the war. They will all work together to stop and counter those tariffs.

"Although the legal recommendation for working hours in Japan is 40 hours per week, historically, many Japanese employers have required their employees to work as much as 80 hours of overtime per month. This has led to the Japanese term “karoshi”, which translates to “death by overwork”. I don't want “karoshi”. I want to work 32 hours a week, instead of 80 hours. You do realize a minimum wage increase of 15 dollars is double the pay people get now. 50% more pay. You aren't getting that in tax cuts from Trump at all. To stay competitive price would need to stay low. If everybody gets a tariff prices will all go up. Both oil and has production rose under Biden and Trump. Look it up. Lots of great graphs out there. Biden had more oil production than Trump, while also getting more green energy too. Gas also Joe Biden had more. The oil and gas price is a global price. That won't change much. Only if Europe start buying from Russia again by the billions will it go lower, because they drive up the global price by demand. Trump wants Europe to buy American gas and oil, so demand will stay high and the price too. Don't see Europe buying high quantities of Russian fossil fuels anytime soon, do you? What does it matter anyway if you deport your cheap labor. Americans aren't gonna work 12 hours a day in the scorching sun for 7.25 a hour. Tariffs isn't the only problem. 21 million population of cheap labor needs to be replaced by Americans. That job isn't for Gen Z'ers with TikTok accounts, they aren't gonna do it.

@quandingleberry445 Only for China 60%. A Toyota Civic is from Japan. Not much use a 60% tariff for cars in China if you can't buy one already.

Or sell his Mercedes Mclaren to drive a shitty American car. They will pay the tariff and so will i for some Jack Daniels or good tequila.
